Tanda Tula Safari Camp

Located in the heart of the Timbavati Private Nature Reserve, part of the Greater Kruger National Park, in 1976 Tanda Tula Safari Camp became the first East African styled, luxury safari camp in South Africa.

The Timbavati Reserve hosts phenomenal concentrations of Africa’s game including the famous ‘Big Five’ in one of the most beautiful parts of the continent. Much of this game make their way through both camps, offering guests an opportunity to get even closer to nature.

Tanda Tula is renowned for offering a luxurious and authentic safari experience where guests are welcomed with warmth and genuine pleasure.

With just 9 secluded, luxury suites we celebrate the simplicity of the safari lifestyle and tempo of modern-day Africa. Set in the same location, overlooking the Nlharalumi riverbed, we will welcome our guests to our more ecologically sensitive camp with a lighter footprint. Building is well underway and the new design embodies the essence of Tanda Tula Safari Camp which will continue to connect our guests to the African wilderness through canvas.

After 27 years our infrastructure requires modernisation to be true to our ethos of protecting the wilderness for generations to come.
